Even this bullion was not easily available due to economic problems. The gold coins that was produced between 1979 and 1982 contains around .999 gold in it.
The producer, royal Canadian mint was the first one to issue bullion coins with maple leaf on it. Many other countries in the past had issued gold coins but they never issued bullion coins. The coin has the photo of Queen Elizabeth II on it with the date and $50 incripted on it. The other side of the coin has the image of maple leaf and “Canada” is incripted on it. Earlier when the Canadian maple leaf gold coin was produced, there were very few buyers and there was production of around 40,000 gold coins in the very first year. But the production went on decreasing due to low sales and thus, leading to the discontinuation of the production of palladium Canadian maple leaf.
